Carter Clinics provides personalized newborn care to support your baby’s health, development, and well-being during the important early weeks and months of life.
Our healthcare professionals take a family-centred approach by considering each baby’s birth history, feeding patterns, growth, development, and individual health needs. When necessary, we coordinate referrals to paediatricians, hospitals, lactation specialists, or other appropriate healthcare providers.
We aim to make newborn care supportive, accessible, and easy to understand for parents and caregivers. Each care plan is tailored to the baby’s individual needs and may include routine examinations, growth monitoring, feeding guidance, health education, and recommendations for follow-up care. Available support may include:
Our family-centred approach may involve physicians, nurses, paediatric care providers, lactation specialists, and other healthcare professionals, depending on your newborn’s health and developmental needs.
Where additional assessment or specialized treatment is required, Carter Clinics may coordinate referrals to paediatricians, hospitals, diagnostic facilities, feeding specialists, or other appropriate healthcare services.
Before your newborn’s first appointment, please bring the parent or guardian’s valid photo ID, the baby’s Ontario health card or insurance information where applicable, hospital discharge documents, vaccination records, referral letters, and any relevant medical or test reports.
During the initial visit, a healthcare professional may review your baby’s birth history, feeding, sleep, growth, development, and any concerns you may have. Appropriate care recommendations, follow-up appointments, feeding support, or specialist referrals may then be discussed based on your newborn’s individual needs.
