Laparoscopic Surgery

Carter Clinics provides assessment, consultation, and coordinated care for patients who may require laparoscopic surgery. This minimally invasive surgical approach uses small incisions and specialized instruments to diagnose or treat certain abdominal, pelvic, gastrointestinal, or gynaecological conditions.

Our healthcare professionals take a patient-centred approach by reviewing each patient’s symptoms, medical history, test results, and treatment needs. When surgery is appropriate, Carter Clinics may coordinate referrals to qualified surgeons, hospitals, diagnostic facilities, or other specialized healthcare providers.

Enhancing the Patient and Family Experience

We aim to make every stage of surgical care clear, supportive, and well coordinated. Patients receive information about recommended assessments, treatment options, preparation requirements, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.

Depending on the patient’s condition and clinical needs, available support may include preoperative consultations, diagnostic testing, specialist referrals, surgical-care coordination, postoperative monitoring, recovery guidance, and follow-up appointments.

Patients Supported by a Dedicated Team of Professionals

Our compassionate healthcare team works together to provide coordinated care throughout each patient’s laparoscopic surgery journey. Depending on the condition and recommended procedure, care may involve physicians, surgeons, nurses, anaesthesia professionals, diagnostic specialists, and other healthcare providers.

When further assessment, diagnostic testing, or surgical treatment is required, Carter Clinics may recommend or coordinate referrals to qualified surgeons, hospitals, diagnostic imaging centres, or other appropriate healthcare services.

Information for New Patients

Before your first appointment, please bring a valid photo ID, your Ontario health card or insurance information where applicable, a current list of medications, and any relevant referral letters, medical reports, imaging results, or test records.

During your initial consultation, a healthcare professional will review your symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, and available test results. Based on this assessment, we may recommend further testing, a surgical consultation, an appropriate treatment plan, or follow-up care tailored to your individual needs.
